The MCBR Good Neighbor Program is a volunteer incentive program that encourages our members to become involved with their local community.
To be eligible to submit volunteer hours, the member must volunteer for a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that they are not a member of. Earning period is a rolling month timeline, which starts the day after the Membership Meeting and ends at noon the day before the next Membership Meeting. Each member is responsible for recording their own hours on the log and ensuring the log is submitted to the Association Executive by 12 p.m. noon the day prior to the scheduled Membership Meeting. The Associate Executive will track members monthly totals for the annual total.
Members will receive one (1) entry for each full hour of volunteering into the monthly prize drawing. The drawing will take place monthly at the Membership Meeting between those members who turned their log into the AE by noon the day before the meeting. Winners drawn will have the opportunity to choose a $25 gift card or receive a free meal to a future Membership Meeting within 12 months of winning. Winners selected will also have their picture taken to be posted among the MCBR digital channels.
The member with the most hours recorded throughout the year will be awarded the Volunteer of the Year plaque at the December Awards Banquet/Meeting.
The MCBR Good Neighbor Award is eligible to any member who completes volunteer hours during the year and has submitted their application, or was nominated. Applications are due November 30th of every year. The Community Revitalization Committee will review all nominees in December and will announce the winner in January. The winner of the Volunteer of the Year Award is also eligible to be nominated. Whomever is announced as winner for the MCBR, they will be submitted to NAR Good Neighbor Award Contest in May. Five (5) national winners are selected each year. National winners get tremendous national publicity and will also receive a $10,000 grant for a 501(c)3 non-profit organization of their choice.
